Locals: The backbone of the NFU-O
What are Locals?
Locals are the lifeblood of the NFU-O. They are regional chapters that organize and engage NFU-O members in their region, and carry out the mission of the NFU-O.
As an accredited General Farm Organization, the NFU-O requires a minimum of 12 Locals to maintain accreditation status. Each Local is required to be made up of a group of 10 or more members, each of whom has paid the membership fee, and is carrying on a farming business in the area.
Locals are run by a team of elected “Local Executives” who provide community to their members. What Locals do & how they operate can vary from region to region.
