We’re pleased to announce that Gary Kenny, President of Local 344, Grey County, is the winner of the Grassroots Award! Local 344 nominated Gary for the award and shared the following sentiments about his leadership and contributions to the community:
Gary has been an incredible leader, who has proven to be a skilful communicator through effective community action. He has demonstrated great commitment to inclusiveness and equity in society, including his impressive commitment to stand in solidarity with Indigenous communities! Gary’s leadership has kept Local 344 active on important NFU issues and priorities. His direction has led Local 344 to support initiatives, such as the Kinoo Mudwin course led by Glenn Trivett, local workshops and speaker presentations, and helped expand the Local’s influence and effectiveness beyond the NFU by fostering strong relationships with other organizations in Grey County!
This amazing achievement was announced at the 49th NFU Annual Convention in Saskatoon. Gary will receive the award at the NFU-O Annual Convention in February 2019.
