Need Support from the NFU-O?

 

The NFU-O member service standard outlines a process for members seeking support from the organization on an agriculture related issue. If you are seeking a letter of support from our Regional Council, please review the following guidelines.

Duties of the member making a submission

  1. You must be a member of the NFU-O.
  2.  All requests must be recieved in writing (email, mail, or fax).
  3. Submissions must include the name, mailing address or email address, phone number, and FBR number.
  4. The submission must clearly outline the problem and state what actions the supporter would like Regional Council to take.

Duties of the NFU-O

  1. When the submission is received, it will be forwarded to the NFU-O President to determine if it requires Council review.
  2. If Council review is needed, the item will be placed on the Council's agenda for the next Council meeting. Council will then decide the course of action. This could include further research, denial of the request, a request for clarification, etc.
  3. If directed to regional staff, staff will provide written follow-up support, and provide a copy to the President and Council for sign-off.
  4. The action plan will be communicated to the supporter by the President, Executive Director, or staff member based on the course of action.
  5. All requests must fit within the policies of the NFU-O. To change NFU-O policies, resolutions must be submitted to the voting members at the AGM.

Making Submissions at the Annual General Meeting

  1. Resolutions must be made in writing to either Regional Council or to your Local Executive for submission to the Resolutions Committee.
  2. Resolutions should ideally be submitted 30 says in advance of the AGM, but can be submitted on the floor.
