Funding Details
A loan for Southern Ontario businesses that develop, commercialize or produce innovative products, processes and services. The loan is intended to support improved productivity, capacity and competitiveness, and expansion to develop new business opportunities, enter new markets, or reach new customers.
Funding:
- Minimum of $125,000 up to a maximum of $10 million per project in repayable contribution funding
- Maximum rate of support from FedDev Ontario is 50% of eligible project costs
- Preference will be given to projects that maximize funding from other sources (i.e., where FedDev Ontario’s contribution is less than 50%)
- Interest-free and unconditionally repayable
- Repayment will normally begin 1 year after the completion of the project
Eligibility:
Businesses, co-operatives and Indigenous (First Nations, Métis and Inuit Peoples) businesses located or expanding in southern Ontario that:
- Are for-profit entities;
- Have a minimum of 5 full-time employees; and
- Have at least 3 years of business operations
Funding Priorities 2025/2026:
- Fostering innovation in key sectors (AI, quantum, advanced manufacturing, ZEVs)
- Promoting clean and inclusive growth
- Scaling SMEs
- Building resilient supply chains (especially in response to tariffs)
- Supporting housing innovation
- Driving sustainable regional development through strategic partnerships and place-based solutions
