NFU-O AGM & Convention: "Nourish Farming for People, Profit, and the Planet"
Feeling disconnected from other farmers? Eager to meet like-minded individuals who share your passion for sustainable agriculture? Look no further! Our AGM & Convention is your ticket to a vibrant, connected community.
We are excited to invite you to be a part of our Annual General Meeting and Convention on March 1st, 2025!
We will be hosting this in-person gathering in partnership with the UTSC Department of Physical & Environmental Sciences, Feeding City Lab, and Sustainable Food & Farming Futures SF3 Cluster. Online options will be available via Zoom, for members who prefer to participate remotely. We will be gathering at the EV Building on the UTSC campus.
Our theme, “Nourish: Farming for People, Profit & the Planet,” shares and celebrates how farmers have found ways to make farming profitable while nurturing the soil and working with nature, treating farm workers fairly, and providing healthy, nutritious food for local communities.
The agriculture sector plays an important role in building and sustaining community through economic opportunities and access to fresh and local food. As many farmers are interested in shifting to more sustainable business models and agricultural practices, it is invaluable to have access to information from other farmers who have successfully met the triple bottom line - feeding and supporting their communities, turning a profit to sustain their livelihoods, and leaving their soils and waters better than how they found them.
The 2025 NFU-O AGM will create a space for NFU-O members to learn from one another, and build valuable knowledge sharing networks around community, profitability, and sustainability. We’ll hear from a variety of farmers from across the province about how they are achieving the triple bottom line in their farm businesses with ‘Sharing Stories of Farming for People, Profit, and the Planet’ panel sessions throughout the day.
The AGM will also include reports from the NFU-O Board, elections, and debates on policy resolutions. Join us for farmer-led stories, discussions, and solutions about how agriculture can feed, nurture, and sustain us all.
