Events Organized by Local 330
- At our last NFU Local 330 AGM, March 7, 2024, we had a fantastic guest lecture by Cathy Wilson, Professor Emeritus, Rural History, University of Guelph. She spoke about the economies and community involvement in farm work bees from the 1830’s to 1960’s. A pot luck dinner was provided and over 40 people attended. We also purchased and gave away as door prizes a few copies of Cathy’s new book on the subject, “Being Neighbours – Cooperative Work and Rural Culture 1830 – 1960”
- NFU Local 330 partnered with the Ottawa River Institute and the Renfrew County Stewardship Council to show the film “Regenerating Life”, June 7, 2024. The “Rights” to show the film in public were purchased with funding from each participating organization. See picture attached showing fil and dinner in the barn. at Ottawa Valley Farm to Fork.
